Welcome Stallions fans

Welcome to The Herald's prep football message board for South Pointe High School football. If you are fans of the program and want to share any news or opinions on the team, this is the place to post it.

We'd love to hear from you. Who are the players to watch? Let us know.

South Pointe has loads of talent at the skills positions and I think they'll definitely be in the mix for the Region 3-AAAA title. But it won't be easy. Every region game is going to be hard-fought. What are the biggest obstacles to South Pointe's quest for a region title?

I think it's getting to a

I think it's getting to a point where the Stallions aren't going to hurt anybody's feelings if they beat their opponent. I think a lot of people know about South Pointe and know that they're a solid threat to go deep in the playoffs. They have a huge, bruising offensive line, an extremely athletic quarterback who is a bona fide double threat, a powerful, durable tailback, hard-hitting, quick linebackers and good depth. I don't think they have any real weaknesses, or at least they haven't been exposed if there are some.

Right now, they have to be considered inside favorites to win Region 3-AAAA, but they have Clover on Friday night, and Clover will be determined not to go 0-2 in the region. But if the Stallions win and go 2-0 with two of their toughest opponents out of the way, it may be tough for the others to overtake them.

All I know is there is a lot of football left, and every game in Region 3-AAAA is going to be hotly contested. There is no patsy or doormat in the league. Overconfidence is not advisable.

Stallions are working hard

From special teams, to offense and defense, the Stallions have really broken out of their shell this year and are out to prove that they can really play. They had the talent last year but I don't think they had the right coaching staff in place like they do this year. Bobby Carrol has done a tremendous job by getting the right people in the right places and because of that, I think the Stallions will be hurting a lot of feelings this season.

Stallions Fan...

Even though I am a graduate of Northwestern, I still love to support our local teams. To South Pointe, I hope that your athletic department continue to flourish as does the other schools. To Bobby Carrol, I figured that it was about time that you had your own team; I remember when I was playing under you in the 80's...(showing my age....lol). You've got a good staff under you; Pat Burris and the rest should have you and your team at championship level in no time. So, with that I just have to say, good job fellas, and continue the good work.
