3rd DUI?!! WTF?

my daughter was killed in York county by two underage drunk drivers & the three ADULTS that provided the alcohol.

the adults and one of the underage drunk driver were never charged (the other driver also died). as i read about this guy, it becomes more clear as to why no arrests were made & no charges filed in my child's death.

our state looks the other way when it comes to drinking & driving.

Well Paul Lindemann, i'm going to help expose your obvious alcohol problem. this is no longer going to be only known to people in SC.

i have around 18,000 readers nationwide that are about to get to know all about you & how you put everyone at risk as you drink & drive.

the state of SC may not care about your path of destruction but i sure do. i sill have one child left at home & i'll be damned if i let you put him at risk.

Cause it sure is the only way I'd be able to buy into this load of manure that's currently being flung on us from Lindemann and his attorney.

But unfortunately I will add that Lindemann is not alone. In fact there are several elected officials from one side of the country to the other who have recently been arrested for DUI's. Just two examples happen to be as far west as Steamboat Springs CO., while another's a congressman who represents the Staten Island/Bay Ridge in NY.

Yet as I sit here typing this it reminds of and old saying that I was often told as a child, a saying I now have found myself repeating to my own children a time or two. A saying that more than likely is older than dirt but somehow carries enough weight that it still continues to be passed down from generation to generation. It goes like this:
Just because everyone else is doing it...Doesn't make it right!!

One must lead their life by example, and in this particular case if the example continues to be bad then one needs to have the courage to admit it, and seek the help that is needed. If this can not be done then it will be left up to the voting public to rectify the situation.

Lastly I would have loved to have been a brain cell in Paul Lindemann's head on Monday March 17, 2008 when Betty Miller (Deputy Solicitor)appeared before the York County council to seek permission to apply for a 2009 Highway Safety Grant with the Dept. of Public Safety, so as to help fund the DUI Prosecution Unit (it was later approved). Also during this council meeting Lindemann attempted to get an evaluation for the new WalMart to see if safety, and traffic will be of concern. Now don't you just know Lindemann's brains cells where screaming out HEY HOLLYWOOD WHO CARES ABOUT THE TRAFFIC AND SAFETY ISSUES RIGHT NOW WHEN POSSIBLE FUNDING WAS JUST APPROVED TO BETTER PROSECUTE DUI'S IN 2009 AHHHHHHH!!!

I'd already grown tired of reading Lindemann's excuses and denials of illegal behavior, now I have to read his attorney boo-hooing about it too.

You are not a victim, Lindemann! Although you and your family and friends seem to believe otherwise, it is pertinent to your elected office that you are a drunk driver. It is pertinent because you feel it inconvenient to follow the law - what does that say for your ethical beliefs? What about your judgement? How about your concern for public safety?

I only know one person that has been arrested 3 times for drunk driving, and he is an alcoholic. It may seem unfair for you that a private alcohol problem which you need to overcome became a public matter, but it is still a problem you need to resolve. No one, whether they are on the roads in Columbia, or Fort Mill, should be put at risk because of your drunk driving.

Own up to your faults and change your life - now.

I don't drink so I don't know the feeling or "high" one gets from drinking but I don't put anyone down who does drink or smoke. I just believe that if you do drink, and I know a lot of people who do, do not get behind the wheel of a car, truck, motor home, boat, bicycle, motorcycle, anything with 2 to 12 wheels. Don't be the reason anyone else has to go to a funeral for a friend who was killed by a drunken driver. You seem to have enough knowledge to do this. Do it for all of the Mothers whose children have been killed by a drunk driver and for the wives, children, and anyone who loved someone who has been killed by a drunk driver. Think really hard about it because only you can change yourself.

I spent Monday and Tuesday at the funeral for a very dear friend who was killed last Friday by a drunk driver.

Is that what it will take to make you stop drinking?

Seems you have an alcohol problem and I sincerely hope you get some help. If, like the post above states, you have a family that is enabling you, then to them I say STOP!

Get some help, step down, sit down and get right with yourself and God.
