LOCAL 2008 ELECTIONS

I haven't seen much written about the local elections, either Rock Hill City or York County Council seats. Aren't the politicians who are running for the positions worthy of any mention or discussion? After all, they'll be making decisions and spending our MONEY. What have the INCUMBENTS done for us? Have they improved our QUALITY OF LIFE? Have they brought us further into debt? Have they given our MONEY to their cronies? Have they made decisions that are good for their buddies and bad for the populace? Are the incumbents forward thinkers in that they have prepared for future droughts? Are water reservoirs being built as you breathe, or are more homes being built to further tax our resources?

Will the CHALLENGERS be any better? What is their platform? Will they be more responsible? Will they represent us better? I know that the Herald doesn't want to be controversial about anything important, so it's up to the people and the writers on these blogs to educate us so we can cast a wise vote on our local representatives. There are a lot of smart, intelligent well spoken writers who contribute to these blogs and editorials, let's hear from you all.

I personally have to campaign against BUDDY MOTZ, because he doesn't represent his district at all. He will cost the folks in his district large personal financial losses, and ruin their respective QUALITY OF LIFE. He has A PERSONAL AGENDA that is at odds with the folks he is supposed to represent. Therefore I urge citizens to vote him out of office for the good of Rock Hill and York County. He represents Charlotte's interests better than ours.

So, Enlighten, you running or what?

I'll put your campaign sign in the Motz' yard, for starters. If you're ruthless, can put "For Sale sign" in his yard too. How much ruth you got?

Thanks for the endorsement

But I would last about two minutes before I was calling names and pointing fingers. I frankly believe myself way too honest for a career in politics.

And what would I be able to accomplish? First off, getting elected as a "non" Christian would be near impossible. I am sure I would be portrayed as a devil worshipping Yankee within the first week. Secondly, I have no connections or ties to any of the shakers and movers around here.

While I would love to see a candidate that would truly represent the people, I am not that person. I have better things to do than to save the people of York county from themselves...I personally believe that they will all deserve exactly what they get.

But again, thanks for the endorsement...

Quality of life

to Buddy Motz means how much can he help his developer friends. He has been the WORSE representative I have ever had and the sad part is that I voted for Lee and got stuck with Motz when they moved the lines around.

The saddest thing is that his opponent is another developer. We need to stop electing developers and realtors to the zoning boards and councils but those are the very people with a vested interest. They are going to keep trying to get elected because they want to continue to rake in the money by building where they want, what they want, and how they want with no regard to the people already there or (God Forbid!) the environment.
