WR D.J. Hackett's headed back to Seattle, after wrapping up his three-city East Coast swing which included stops in Washington, Tampa Bay and here. That's not just his travel itinerary. Realistically, that's probably going to be said about his ultimate decision as well.
Word around the league is that Hackett's junket was a leverage trip, and Seattle's going to get a chance to match anything he found out here.
And any discussion of whether he received an offer here is hair-splitting semantics. Hackett's represented by a firm of agents, and so far, the one talking to reporters is not the one talking numbers with teams.
He's been here, both sides know the ballpark financial figures involved, and now we'll wait to see where he decides he wants to play.

More or less
But at the same time, the notion that Washington's the only team to have "offered" is a little farfetched too. It's important to remember that the guy talking to reporters and the guy talking numbers with teams isn't the same guy, and that's caused some confusion in this case.
Tampa and Carolina both know the parameters Hackett's looking for, and if they weren't willing to get in that ballpark, he wouldn't have traveled to either place.
That being said, if the word's out he's here for leverage, there's no use tripping over yourself to give it to him in a detailed, written proposal. Those will come, probably in the next few days. Then he'll decide whether he wants to leave.
