Can anyone stop Blue Eagles offense?

414 rushing yards, 529 overall against Ashbrook. That's close to 750 yards rushing in two games for Clover. Right now, that offense is in midseason form.

Five different players scored against Ashbrook, so it's not just one person getting the glory or inflicting the damage. Four of their six scoring plays went for 16 yards or more.

If the Blue Eagles can overcome their lapses on defense, it could be another 11-win season -- or better -- for them. I am sure the other region teams will have something to say about that.

2007 Chester Cyclones Football Team

I have followed Chester football closely for the past four years and anything less than an opportunity to play for the state title would be disappointing for this years group of seniors. Whitlock, McCaskill, Springs, Wright & Crank to name a few. The questions in the stands each week is why doesn't senior defensive back/runnig back Terrell Springs get more carries on offense? He is one of the fastest sprinters in the state since the eight grade. Many of the Chester fans are upset that this kid is not receiving the publicity that he deserves because of how he is being used by head coach Victor Floyd. This kid has some talent that could help take Chester Football to the next level if he is used properly. Many fans feel like we could have beat Blythewood-the defending state champions but the Cyclones were out coached for the second straight year. Floyd please play this kid more on offense and give yourself a chance to compete for the title this year. He's hands down the best running back on your team and possible in the state if giving the opportunity to prove it. He's proved he can be a shut down corner along with Whitlock the states best corner back/athlete. Go Cyclones-It's Our Time!!!

secondary woes

will at least one clover coach step up and say we need some pass defense. its the only thing missing for the big blue to win state. we need our secondary to take on a bust them in the jaw attitude. playing the safeties 20 yards off the whole game is quite apparently not the answer. our secondary will make or break us in the playoffs. come on guys, you can do this. the state rings are already made to fit your fingers, you just need to make the ride to go pick them up!

KEEP ROLLING BIG BLUE EAGLES!!

1- dimensional?

clover can do more things with the run game than most can do with run and pass! yes, passing is exciting, but so is utilizing your strengths and coming away with a "w". keep your heads up clover blue. keep busting them in the mouth, and do what you do to the best of your ability.

p.s.- "go fast ricky"- you're the stuff

clover eagles

I dont think the blueeagles have nothing to be ashamed of the way they played friday night against the rebels..they simply played there hearts out and all my respect goes out to them..i think clover wins region this year and possibly make it to state if they play to there potential.

PantherPaul's picture

For all the Naysayers that

For all the Naysayers that say the Blue Eagles offense is one dimensional all I can ask is when someone stops their running game call me. Clover plays smash mouth football. Control the line of scrimmage and you control the game. I would love to get another shot at Northwestern. Northwestern played a great game and their defensive line is great but I still want another shot. Next week is Byrnes
Love the Panthers then come on over to

1 dimensional Eagles

While Clover has proven they can run the ball they can do nothing else. They have an elementary offense. They are willing to run on all four downs the games are so boring. Thats the way pee-wee games are played run run run. And then what happens when teams stop the run, the eagles are unable to pass, so one dimensional. Because they are 1-d, the eagles will have a hard time trying to win a 4-A state championship.

boring in clover? no way!

this was obviously sent by 1 more victim that had to sit and watch their boys go through 48 minutes of being dazed, confused, and abused by our powerful offense. sorry 'bout your luck

re

They have a tough on this week against the Trojans.

It's a TEAM effort!

Great job BIG BLUE.....It's a team effort and you have proven that it's not about one individual but about a great team! Congratulations to the players & coaches. Looking forward to ANOTHER great football season & CHAMPIONSHIP!!
