I saw a home made sign here in Fort Mill this past Saturday which said that Ron Paul was visiting Freedom Temple in Rock Hill. I was unable to go, although I would have if I had not already made plans for that day.
In looking over the Herald Online I was unable to find an article. I am sure I missed it. Can someone post a link to the article? While I am not voting in the Republican nor Democratic primaries, I would like to know more about this.
With Obama, Clinton, Edwards, Thompson and no doubt others coming through this area to bring votes their way, I can imagine that the press might get weary of covering them all in depth. Even so, I am sure the Herald covered Rep. Paul's visit and I just missed it.
BTW, for those who might be interested, it does look as though the Green Party will have several people from which to choose come convention time. It now appears certain that Elaine Brown will seek our nomination. Brown was the last chair of the Black Panther Party and has been active in the Georgia Green Party for a couple of years, at least.
In addition to Brown and former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney, there is a strong chance that Ralph Nader will again toss his hat into the Green Party race.
In addition to these three better known candidates there are several lesser known people seeking the nod. Kat Swift announced her plans to run for President in 2004. Jesse Johnson is an activist with the Mountain Party in WV, the most recent state to join the national Green Party. Jared Ball is a professor of communications at Morgan State University. Finally, Kent Mesplay is a Green activist in CA. He is a scientist with a California Air Quality board and has sought the Green Presidential nod once before.
So Hood, as you can see, we Greens do have a pretty open field. I think that you would have been most impressed by Cynthia McKinney when she came to Fort Mill, but having missed her, I hope that you might step out and see some of the others if we are able to convince them to come to town.
