Relatively calm day around here, though they're still missing a pair of key parts, MLB Jon Beason (ankle) and SS Chris Harris (groin).
Coach John Fox said neither were major, limiting them to the "day-to-day" distinction rather than "week-to-week."
Otherwise, they started getting guys back, with DT Damione Lewis and LB Adam Seward getting back on the field.
-- With TEs Gary Barnidge (glute) and Dante Rosario (hamstring) out, they had to make a roster move. They brought back TE Chad Upshaw, who was on the offseason roster the last two seasons. To make room, they cut spare DT Michael Marquardt, who came last week when DTs were getting scarce.
-- Fox was even more gregarious than normal during practice, cracking jokes like he was running for something. As practice ended, we found out why. He was wearing a wire, since NFL Films was here covering practice.
-- WR Muhsin Muhammad still has it. He was farther in the air than it was thought possible, hauling in a touchdown to cap a two-minute drill.
-- Retired RB Stephen Davis came by, but showed his veteran savvy by leaving about 10 minutes into practice.

SO DID DAVIS ALREADY RETIRE A PANTHER?
If so -- THANKS for the coverage guys -- great respect there.
