2 things

First, the SurYvor Family Challenge at YMCS has been cancelled. Apparently there was no interest.

Second, I'm back by popular demand! (Ok, well that may be a slight exaggeration, but at least two people want me to keep writing) I didn't really post anything last week because honestly the show was pretty much a snooze-fest. I was glad to see Dave leave and thought the Chinese fishing thing was pretty cool. But it seemed pretty boring. Maybe I was just sad that I wasn't on "Leslie-watch" anymore. But I agree with the recent post that Leslie is still affecting the game through Todd. He's a smarty - he knows what he's doing and I'm sure he was happy to make himself available to Dave. And the beauty of Dave's departure, is he may not have told anyone at his camp about his conversation with Todd.

This week's episode looks like it'll be a little more exciting. Perhaps a tribal switch-up or a double-elimination.

I'm also floored that Fei Long hasn't been more successful with their fishing gear. Past seasons have shown the fishing gear means all the difference in the world and you see tribes chowing down on all sorts of fish. It makes me think there may be either A) problems with the location and lack of actual fish, or B) problems with the tribe.
I'm leaning toward A, just because even the fish those special fishing birds caught were pretty pathetic. I shoulda asked Leslie about the fishing situation while I had the chance.

While the art of fishing using the birds was interesting, I don't see how it would help the Survivors. They have no trained birds. So, the whole thing was really for the TV viewer's benefit, not any benefit to the people playing the game. Meanwhile, the fact that the players hadn't used the fishing net (supposedly because they didn't know how a net worked) boggles the mind. We hear about all the starvation on this show, yet every season it seems like there is only minimal effort put towards gathering food.

As for Dave: on CBS's intertube video link they show the final words as the players cast their Tribal Council vote. Jamie's comment was that she was voting out Dave for giving away all of her secrets to the other tribe. I wonder what secrets he supposedly gave away?
